What is a Doula Coach?

I went to a local doula gathering about two weeks ago. And I mentioned to someone you know, I'm a doula. I'm a childbirth educator. I'm a doula coach. And that doula said to me, “wait a second. There are doula coaches?? What do you do? Like what even is that?” And in that moment, I was like, Oh, of course, this is like a brand new concept, in part because there aren't that many of us that are doula coaches. And also because if you're new to the doula world, you're new to all of it, right?

As a coach I doula doulas :) I teach doulas how to organize, run and plan their businesses, but also guide them with compassion, empathy and support throughout the whole year we are together! I pour into my doulas so they can pour into their clients.

Doula coaching is something that not as many people have heard of. I have so many conversations explaining what doulas are/do so this doesn’t feel that far off from those!

Key Takeaways:

My doula coaching includes:

  • Goal setting

  • Strategy

  • Accountability

  • Encouragement

  • Referrals for services

  • Key resources for your business

  • A kind kick in the butt as needed
